Angespielt wird scheinbar hauptsächlich die Passage vor dem betreten des New Vegas Strip. Die (bis jetzt noch englischen) Previews enthalten einige neue Informationen über Charaktere und diversen Gruppierungen. Wer also keine Spoiler will, sollte nicht drüber lesen. Kurze Spielszenen gibt es auf 1Up anzuschauen (ein 10 Jahre alter Spieler, der herumläuft und Ganger abknallt?).

Joystiq Preview:Ahead, a series of bright lights that spelled out "Welcome to the Strip." To the left, a series of crumbling buildings, left to the elements on the outskirts of the city. All I had to do was walk forward and head through a gate and I'd be on the Strip. And that's when I ran into a problem. You can't just waltz into downtown New Vegas. You can try, but you'll end up dead.
The outskirts of New Vegas are kept in order by several competing factions. There's the Freeside Gang out on the streets, largely kept under control by the stronger Kings, who it seems are at odds with the New California Republic. And to top it all off, the Followers, who camp out in the Old Las Vegas Mormon Historic Park, are trying to get the entire population off of booze and drugs.
G4TV Preview:There are a few other additions as well -- perks are back, along with new "traits". They're special abilities that come with a price -- "Good Natured" will boost your social skills at the cost of some attack damage, and "Wild Wasteland" will create some "interesting" encounters, both good and bad. Traits are optional, but they seem like they could both add some variety to the game, and make for some excellent replay value. Radio stations are back, but I only heard Mr. New Vegas playing some swingin' tunes for the desert denizens.
I couldn't tell you specifically why, but VATS feels better -- it feels smoother and easier to use. In the first title, I often found myself just playing in real-time, but in New Vegas, I much more instinctively pulled up the VATS system, both for the great camera views and to help me set up my shots. I used the new VATS against a faction called the "Powder Gangers," chucking dynamite and decapitating them with laser pistols in slow motion.
Links:Then over the horizon, I see it: A huge roller coaster rising into the sky -- the defunct ride welcomes me to Primm, Nevada. Like many of the real-life locations represented in Fallout: new Vegas, Primm exists in our world, but unlike real life, New Vegas's Primm is surrounded by burned out buildings and razor wire fences, and the city is populated with escaped convicts. They had been members of the Powder Clan.
"Awesome," I think. "I stole a powder gang outfit when I offed those two gang members on the way over. I'll just slip this on, and waltz into town."
Bad idea. The convicts accept me all right, but I hadn't figured on the fact that the Powder Gang was engaged in a high octane firefight with the forces of Law and Order who surround Primm. As soon as I got in sight of the soldiers, they lit me up from two sides, tearing me apart with gunfire while I fruitlessly ran for cover. Bang -- dead. Life in the Vegas wasteland is cheap and ends fast, and I never even found out which sons of bitches shot me.
