Niemand hat daran geglaubt, niemand hätte es für möglich gehalten und alle sind furchtbar erstaunt: Interplay Inc. hat seine Webseite offiziell wieder hochgefahren und dazu noch den Fallout 1 Lead Designer Chris Taylor angeheuert, der das Team als Lead System Designer am noch nicht näher bekannt gemachtem "Project V13" unterstützt.
BEVERLY HILLS, CA, September 22, 2008 – Interplay Entertainment Corp. (OTC BB:IPLY) announced today the launch of an all-new web site at www.interplay.com.
The site, developed over the last several months, is designed to improve the company’s communication with customers, investors, and partners. The new site includes forums based on past and future Interplay games, a customer support section, detailed information on the company and its products, and much more.
The company also announced that Chris Taylor, a game designer who was a part of the original Fallout game development team at Interplay in 1994, has rejoined the company. Taylor will serve as Lead System Designer for “Project V13,” the working title of Interplay’s next generation Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMO) currently in development. Taylor joins other original Fallout team members on staff at Interplay’s internal game studio, which recently opened an office in Irvine, Calif. Additional development staff members continue to be hired as the project ramps-up.
Würde es sich bei "Project V13" nicht um ein MMO handeln, wäre ich verdammt nochmal verdammt gespannt. Wobei... ich habe zwar kein Interesse an ein offizielles Fallout MMO, aber gespannt bin ich trotzdem, was da jetzt auf die Beine gestellt werden soll.

Hab mich schon gefragt, wann das MMO angekündigt wird... Aber freut mich, dass Interplay wieder da ist. Ich hoffe da eher auf zukünftige Singleplayer-Spiele.

Fallout Online steht bei mir nur auf der Liste, weil es wirklich ein fast 1:1 Fallout ist. Außerdem ist es ein Indie-Projekt - Dabei geht es nicht um riesige Userzahlen. Interplay muss sich finanzieren, muss also einen großen Markt anzielen und schon alleine das lässt mich an WoW denken.

Ich glaube kaum das Interplay von heute auf morgen das MMo-Genre neu erfindet. Leider bestehen diese zu oft wirklich nur aus Hack'n'Slay gepaart mit ein paar faden Quest kaum Atmosphäre und endloosen Runs oder Raids. Ich habe zwar die Hoffnung Interplay würde mehr auf gute Atmosphäre in einer riesigen Welt mit vielen Quests und Freiheiten setzten zB auch mehr Wirtschaft reinbringen, aber das ist wohl sinnlos.
Trotzdem freue ich mich auf Fallout Online. INTERPLAY GOGOGO

Hmmm und ich dachte ich wäre der Einzige der sich über Interplays Auferstehung freut... war das nicht so das kurz vor Interplays sturz, die Community Interplay verteufelt hat???
Und das Licht von 1000 Sonne wird den Himmel erhellen und danach Stille....
